Witchling of Yasmine Galenorn Milady Publishing 7euros
Volume 1 has the sultry heroine Camille witch of her condition. Finally, half witch, half human, half fairy, towers are not 100% reliable one is never sure of the result. They can both help you get bogged down in more trouble. Weird as her 2 sisters Delilah the cat werewolf and vampire to the Menolly dredlocks. It is the most buxom of 3 with outfits abbracadrantes and forms more than generous.
Synopsis:
stationed on Earth, 3 women working undercover for the OIA. Camille is a bookseller, a private investigator and Delilah Menolly bartender. The world is in serious danger, the Winged Shadow decided to conquer our universe and that of Faes Shadowlands. The sisters will find the 9 magical seals to save the universe as we know it. Everything starts with the murder of a not so giant Giant (2 meters) Jocko. The three heroines encounter demons, vampires, supernatural beings.
A small dictionary of acronym:
HSP: Human Blood Pure
OIA: CIA Shadowlands
COF: Club Observer Fairy
My impression:
I read the volume quickly despite the many passages describing libido sulfurous Camille. Taking a funny side at times, somewhat typical novel rose water in the belief that all men are crazy about the witch. A moment of entertainment without being transcendent. Read this if you want to laugh a little more than a little slow passages. Characters as Maggie the little gargoyle, Morio the yokai-kitsune (fox-demon) or Flam Dragon play an unusual role refreshing. Quotations of SF writers, Bill Gates and other familiar names made me smile. I have not hooked to the main character. The witch clumsy stuffed with hormones that runs several hares and only dream of having a male non-HSP in bed was a little horrified. Know your bra cup (for those interested 95E) does not convince me, I do not care a bit Coquillard. (Without being vulgar, I do not search the measurements of a heroine or hero in my reading). I expected more action. We meet several supernatural creatures happily well not that much and not always in their best day. And touches of humor are present as the Dragon teasing or Vampires Anonymous. The shot of the room full of thirsty vampires waiting to speak with a drink of blood I admit I smiled. I love this idea from VA.
The end is fast, a bit sloppy for my taste. Wait while the volume for the final battle and finish on this ... Medium. It leaves a bitter aftertaste on the edges. I give the benefit of the doubt the first volume that poses a big part of the frame. I expect to see more ... Read this if you have free time and nothing better in the tooth. Otherwise go your way and opt for another novel.
